Types of Rocket Engines
There are four main types of rocket engines. The first type of rocket engine is a Solid Fuel Chemical Propulsion. Which acts as a main booster. It is simple to produce, it has few moving parts, and it generates lots of thrust. The only downside of it is, it is not restartable. The second type is the Liquid Fuel Chemical Propulsion. Which can be used as a main booster and has small control over the rocket. It is restartable, controllable, and it generates lots of thrust. A bad thing about it is, it is to complex to be produced in large quantities. The third type is Cold-Gas Chemical Propulsion. It is a small booster that is restartable and controllable. But it has very low thrust. The last one sounds like it's from a some movie, Ion Propulsion. (Yes, we have really gotten that far!) Get this, It is a in space booster. (You can't have fire in space, there is no air.) It is restartable, controllable, and it has high specific impulse. A downside is it is very complex.
